![]() ![]() if you are a tire peeling, rev limiter bouncing kind of person that could care less about maintenance, it doesn't matter what you get you will be disappointed. The thing to keep in mind is vehicles don't care the AMOUNT of miles, it is the TYPE of miles. I still daily drive this truck 34 miles to and from work every day. ![]() I myself own a 1988 Mazda truck over 200k miles (441,544 km on the odometer when I pulled in the driveway a few minutes ago). Enjoy.I work at a Mazda dealership, I service plenty of Mazda trucks and cars over 320,000 km (200,000 miles). There are more pictures in the gallery below. And thank you to Reg for allowing us to share it with everyone. You can follow more of Kevin’s photography work at K. We would like to thank Kevin Chow for capturing Reg’s Protege5 for us. Lastly, thanks to Auto RND for the new coils, and mounting and balancing the wheels. And thank you to CarsxHype for making him apart of the crew. This jungle gym was provided by an Auto Power roll cage and GTspec rear trunk brace. After 4 years of working on the car through its different stages, here Reg is now. So this was the best option instead of having a body shop fix the fenders.Įvery time Reg saw a car with aggressive fitment and slammed he just had a vision of what his car should be. Reg chose to go with the fender flare route after seeing Rocky’s White Mazda 3 do it, and especially after ruining his fenders trying to slam his car like Shavi’s Red Mazdaspeed 3. The main reason he wanted a wagon was to fit his big 18″ inch sub-woofer in the back, which fit perfectly you could hear him from a mile away. Reg only ended up with one of those three as we can see. He wanted three things from the next car: rear wheel drive, hatchback/wagon, and fast. Reg bought his Protege5 after his 190e Mercedes motor went out. Growing up from one hobby of riding and messy around with BMX bikes to another hobby of being able to drive and modify cars was thanks to Reg’s friend Alex. If you want to submit your car to see if we are interested in featuring it here, make sure to email us at To start us off we have Reg Rivera’s 2002 Sunlight Silver Mazda Protege5 from San Francisco, California. This is the first time we have featured a Protege5 on here not because we don’t like them, but because we never get submissions from this model. Even though Mazda Fitment have been around for a number of years now, we still have a lot of things to check off our feature list for the various Mazda models out there.
